Maybe no Disney tee next time?
@kemeiselle - That hurts. Why the lack of Disney love? This is something that can’t be changed. At any time I’m almost guaranteed to be wearing something Disney or Razorback, both are obsessions and actually both are accounted for in this pic. Ha!
In looking at my pics from SW, as well as any other photos I’ve ever seen of myself running, I always think I look like a douche. I don’t look nearly as badass as I feel when running. I think this is something I need to work on and I’m open to suggestions as to what would make one look more badass in running photos. My wife suggested “throwing horns” as being an option, I thought of the old standby flipping off the camera but I just don’t think that’s the message I’m going for. Anyone else feel the same?
Speaking of running, training called for 7 miles last night which I took care of, headed out for another 4 tonight. Legs are starting to argue with me a bit after the weekend’s event but I’ll push on through.
Got back on that horse tonight with a 3 mile run that felt fantastic.
I also kicked off the 100 Push Up Challenge. I did a whopping 12 for my evaluation which I didn’t feel great about but it’s a start. Then proceeded through day 1. On to day 2 tomorrow!
#100 push ups
Like others I’ve seen on here the last couple of days I’m sporting my Soaring Wings shirt at work today. By the way I’m having a hard time thinking about anything but running since. Is this a typical side affect of longer distance races?
For the second year we some decorating for Halloween and it was a great time with the Trick Or Treaters again. Alot of them commented on how much they liked the fog and some were disappointed that the projector I had set up playing video from The Haunted Mansion at Disney World was missing this year. Knowing that it’s in demand has assured a huge return for that element next year, much to my wife’s dismay. Looks like it’s time to get my Clark Griswald on with the holiday decorations!
This may make me a terrible person but I crack up everytime I see a “Life Alert” commercial. I’m sure they are a very helpful and necessary product but their commercials are awful. I just saw the one where the lady falls in the kitchen and spills the colander of Grapes. This is the first time that I’ve noticed that not only did the fall knock off her glasses but also one of her shoes.
How hard did she fall? I know this type of thing can happen when you get hit by a car or jump off a building but a slip and fall in the kitchen can deliver much more impact than I would have ever expected.
Just wanted to let all the Soaring Wings crowd know that there is a pretty extensive gallery of race photos online at the local Conway newspaper The Log Cabin’s website. Perusing through it so far I have spotted @Josethompson

And @lifedoesjed

The entire gallery which contains a ton of photos can be found here.
Just thought I’d pass this along.
I made it! Just over 2:21! Gave my medal to the best cheerleader out on the course! Awesome to meet so many Internet along the way! What a great day!
Leaving work and headed back to Conway to pick up my race packet!!! Ready to do this!!!!
